So many of you know how I have had some tough days in this wait for Zinny. After the emotional roller coaster this summer with Korea putting Emmigration Permits on hold, we said a tearful goodbye to seeing our daughter in June or July. Then, finally things started moving in the Emmigration Permit department in early August, but we watched as that month, too, went by with no Zinny. By the end of August I was a puddle of despair. I read on a blog of a mother who had recently gone to Korea for her daughter, that what helped her get through this excrutiating part of this difficult wait, was reading Psalms everyday. Well, I committed to opening Psalms randomly and reading what God had sent me that day. It was very comforting (I certainly still had many very difficult days but God was laying a solid foundation for me to land on when I fell from my high hopes.) However,it wasn't enough to just read them, I would easily forget in the busyness of the day what my daily message was. So I decided to choose an especially meaningful verse and sharpie it on my inner arm. This served a two-fold purpose. First, it helped me meditate on that days' particular message, and second, it looks like a cool Angelina Jolie tattoo!
My daughter also started writing God's word on her body. Beautiful!
I'll bet you're thinking "What is on her arm right now?" Here you go:
Great are the works of the Lord;
they are pondered in all who delight in them.
and
The Lord has sworn and will not change His mind.
I like having God's word in my heart, in my mind, and on my body.
So, welcome to my new blog. I pray to have some wonderful posts this week along the order of exciting travel news! Stay tuned...
